DYO Chrome Extension Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 25, 2026
What the extension collects
- Page title and URL of supported work tools. On the specific sites the extension runs on (Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gmail, Outlook, Notion, Asana, Linear, GitHub, Figma, Slack, Trello), the extension reads the current tab's title and URL to offer a contextual mission suggestion. This information is sent to DYO only when you act on a suggestion (for example, answering "Drafting" or starting a mission) — it is used to generate your mission and stored with it in your DYO account.
- Text you highlight — only when you submit it. If you highlight text and choose "Start a mission from this", the highlighted text is sent to DYO once, when you press Start Mission, solely to generate that mission. Highlighting alone sends nothing.
- Your DYO account data. The extension talks to your existing DYO account (dyohq.com) using your logged-in session to read your streak and active mission and to create, accept, and complete missions — the same data the DYO app itself uses.
- Preferences, on your device. Settings (working hours, snooze, sites you exclude, auto-expand) and a short-lived status cache are stored in your browser's extension storage. They are not transmitted to DYO.
What the extension never collects
- Page content. The extension does not read the contents of the pages you visit.
- Browsing history, or anything on sites other than the supported work tools listed above.
- Other tabs, cookies of other sites, keystrokes, or form entries.
- Anything at all while you are logged out of DYO.
How data is used
Data is used for one purpose: generating and tracking your DYO missions. Missions you accept (including the work description and any page context or highlighted text you submitted with them) are stored in your DYO account, exactly as missions created in the DYO app are. DYO does not sell data or share it with third parties for advertising.
Retention and deletion
Mission data lives in your DYO account and follows your account's lifecycle — deleting your account deletes it. Local extension storage is removed when you uninstall the extension.
